DIY Cat Enrichment-Puzzle Treat Cups
Recently Mama was at Great Plains SPCA-Independence with her friends Kathryn and Lisa (aka the Mom over at A Tonk's Tail) when she learned a fun new craft. Kathryn was making puzzle treat cups for the kitties. There are a whole lot of cats at Great Plains right now and it's hard to make sure they all have stimulation and toys. This craft not only gives them those things, but lets them eat some yummy treats, too!
It's easy to make a bunch of treat cups. All you need are some small disposable bathroom cups and some cat treats. Here is what Mama used:
You can also use empty toilet paper rolls and dry kibble if that's what you have on hand. Check out Mama's instructional video about how to make them!
Mama used the whole box of cups and donated 200 of the puzzle cups to Great Plains (along with the mousies from her Mice Bucket Challenge).
Thanks so much to Auntie Kathryn for sharing a great idea with us!
That was awesome. We have a feeling we know what mom is doing this weekend. We will be sure to snoopervise!
ReplyDeleteThat is sooooo awesome! And the kitties needed them so badly! That plus the Mice Bucket donation = a huge WIN for GP SPCA in Indy! YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I need to get my human on this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very cool idea. That is just awesome, and you all are awesome for doing that for the shelter.
ReplyDeleteit is a wonderful idea, but I know Jack would eat the cup to get to the snacks..
ReplyDeleteThe kitties at GPSPCA are sending meows and purrs!!! They loved the treat cups, and the mice too!!! And the best part of the treat cups is even after the treats are gone, they still have the cups, which make fun toys to bat around and pounce on! Thank you!!!
