Featured Furries-Chauncy and Mary

UPDATE: Today (November 5, 2014) Mary and Chauncy were adopted together! Congrats to these two girls and their new family!

Mama didn't have a whole lot of time to spend at the shelter this week, but she ran by to drop off some Halloween rugs for the kitties. It spruces up their rooms a bit and gets everyone in a Halloweenie mood.

After she put a rug in every room, she noticed an orange kitty with a very interesting face. She decided to go in and say hi.

That kitty turned out to be Chauncy, a 6 year old girl who came in with her sister Mary, also 6. Both kitties are orange tabbies, but Chauncey almost has the face of a persian; just a bit flat. They are also both front declawed.

Mary and Chauncy would love to go home together since they've lived together all this time and came to the shelter together. If you would like to meet these girls, you can visit them at Great Plains SPCA in Merriam. They will be happy you stopped by!

Featured Furry-Dillon

Today was Mama's first day of volunteering at Great Plains SPCA in Merriam. It didn't take long for her to make a lot of new kitty friends! She sat in one of the colony rooms to hang out and read. Before she could even get settled, Dillon, a handsome Siamese, introduced himself.

He gave a little meow and sat right down. Soon, he even climbed into Mama's lap! He gave her head butts and licked her finger. What a charmer!

Dillon is 3 years old and has been at the shelter for about a month. He's living peacefully with 2 other cats in the colony room and came from a home where he lived with another cat.

He's a big fella just full of love. He'd make a great addition to a family. A young volunteer came in and played with Dillon while Mama was in there. He really liked the wand toy and batted a jingle ball around a bit.

If you're interested in meeting Dillon, make your way to Great Plains SPCA in Merriam. I'm sure after a short visit, you'll be just as smitten as Mama was!
