Meet Me in St. Louis, BlogPaws!

My pal Maggie is here again this week to share why #BlogPaws should come to Missouri. Take it away Maggie!

Hi all! This is MaggieTKat again writing from the wonderful city of St. Louis, MO. I am joining my buddy SeabassCat to encourage BlogPaws to come to one of the cities in Missouri. St. Louis is truly the Gateway to the west, almost dead center of the United States. There are several interstates that converge in St. Louis: I-44, I-55, I-70, and I-64. I looked up mileage between St. Louis and some cities where bloggers and anipals live. Most of these cities are less than a days’ drive, or so Mom says, and she likes to stop for available litter boxes. Here’s my list:

City                       Miles

Columbus, OH     396

Chicago, IL           263

Oklahoma City, OK           459

Kansas City, MO   238

Denver, CO       796

Madison, WI       310

Atlanta, GA     468

Austin, TX    720

If you don’t want to drive, Lambert International Airport (code STL) is serviced by the following airlines: American, United, Southwest, AirTran, SA3000, Airchoice1, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Cape Air, Continental, Delta, Frontier, and US Air. Amtrak comes from Chicago and Kansas City, and Greyhound goes everywhere.

So, now you know that we are central to everything, a reasonable idea of mileage, and airlines you can take. So, please tell BlogPaws you would like to come to either Kansas City or St. Louis, Missouri! We would love to show you our state. As the song says, “Meet Me in St. Louis.”

Wow, St. Louis sounds pretty drivable! And look at that gorgeous picture of the Arch! Mom has always loved flying into St. Louis and seeing the river below her. Now don't you think we should have #MOBlogPaws?

  1. Well, it's 815 miles from us in Virginia but we lucked out when BlogPaws came to us in 2011 and in 2010, Columbus OH was only about 9 hours away... But St Louis is a good midpoint for 2013! I was there for a vet seminar in 2009 and enjoyed the sights, stayed at the Hilton at the Ball Park, it was nice...but as I remember, the area was kinda sparse on restaurants and we couldn't find a place to get a mani-pedi...

  2. Only 310 miles from Madison - hmmm. M & D could maybe handle that - would be 422 to our house she says. i sure hope you get it in one of those areas.

  3. Isn't St. Louis where the Purina corporate offices are? I'm sure they could be talked into some cool visiting opportunities for pet bloggers!

  4. We only live 3 1/2 hours away and have some connections with the social media club in St. Louis and I bet some of them would be interested in attending as well. Mom talked at the Show Me the Blog Conference about pet blogging so if blogpaws came that would be really neat!

  5. Teri and Catz,
If your conference was downtown, you are correct about walkable places. I believe that we would be somewhere in the county with lots of opportunities if you have access to a car. Almost anything less than 30 minutes away. Stay tuned for the next post - gastronomic travelogue!

  6. Sparkle,
Yes, Purina is here! They have a great center west of town. Also, Royal Canin has a facility about an hour away. And, we have the vet school at University of Missouri - Columbia which is about 1.5 hours away.
    Thanks for the comment!
