Still my inspiration, still my muse. I love you, Seb.

A New Life for an Old Bed
As many of you know, Evelyn lives in our bedroom. Stilwell was making her life miserable and now she's more relaxed and happier than ever. She spends a lot of time on my dresser, looking out the window. A couple of days ago, I moved the dresser so that it was directly in front of the window. There is a blanket on the dresser, but she enjoys laying in our laundry basket so I thought she would like a bed there instead.
I asked my husband if he would be okay with Evelyn using Sebastian's old bed. Seb went to the Bridge 2 1/2 years ago and a lot of his stuff has been in a large Ziploc bag since the day after he died. My hubby was okay with it, so I got it out.
I placed it on the dresser and let Evelyn check it out. She sniffed it all over before she decided she could get in it. It didn't take long for her to decide it's the perfect spot to nap or to watch the birds in the trees.
I love that she is using Sebastian's bed. It makes me happy to know that she can feel the love that I gave to him and he gave back to me, all through a cozy place to sleep.

My Garden is Coming Together
Mama got a good start on my garden today. Dad helped her spread the dirt and she planted a bunch of seeds.
She planted two purple fountain grass plants. Those were always my favorite to chew on! She also put out a St. Francis of Assisi statue. It's going to look pawsome when the seeds start to sprout!
The Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

Happy Mother's Day
It's my first Mother's Day at the Rainbow Bridge. I know Harvey and Evelyn did a good job of making Mama's day special, so these memories of us are just the cherry on top!
I love you Mama! Happy Mother's Day!

Meowy Crispmouse!
I know how much Mama loves this time of year so I thought I'd share some of her favorite pet related Christmas memories.
I've told you about Rosie, Mama's kitty that lived in Wichita. He was there to greet me when I went to the Rainbow Bridge. Even though he's a tough guy, he's also a big fan of Crispmouse. He and Mama had 17 years together, so they had a lot of holiday memories.
Of course, there was her doggie, Oscar. She could barely keep him in the house after he opened his gifts!
Little Dottie never gets left out of the festivities!

Mama always makes sure to get something special for Gpa's dog Yaz. That dog is crazy, but lovable.
Now, Mama is kept busy by Harvey. He's broken a few decorations, but she still loves him.

I hope you all have a great holiday with both two- and four-legged family members. Every moment becomes a memory! Merry Crispmouse!

Thankful Thursday: So Much Love Surrounds Me
Usually I dedicate my Thursday posts to promoting a homeless pet, but this week is different. This week my Thursday post is all about gratitude.
Things were very hard for Mom & Dad when I made my journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Their grief was overwhelming for a while. It turns out, Mom & Dad weren't the only ones who thought I was special.
First, some of the other volunteers paid for my cremation at Wayside Waifs. Mom & Dad had to give up their anniversary trip & open an account with Care Credit to pay for my V-E-T bills, so this was very helpful. It was one less thing for them to worry about and eased the financial burden.
Then, Mom got a phone call from Barb at Wayside. She was calling to let her know that another pawsome volunteer, Michelle Cour, had donated something special to the shelter in my name.
It was a cat exercise wheel! How cool is that?! Not only was it donated in my name, but they added a plaque to let everyone know.
Mom loves the idea that my name will live on at Wayside Waifs where we first met. Not to mention how many kitties will get to run on the wheel!
Mom also got a letter in mail letting her know that an anonymous donor made a contribution to Wayside Waifs in Sebastian's name. She has no idea who did it, but it made her smile.
I've gotten so many nice tweets, Facebook messages, and cards that let me know people really loved me, even when they didn't know me in person.
Mom always felt a special bond with me and left me with a special message whispered in my ear during my last moments on Earth to let me know she felt it. All of the lovely messages and acts of kindness reaffirms for Mom what she believed: there was something special about me, something that couldn't quite be explained. Maybe I was an old soul, maybe I could feel others' emotions or maybe I could express love better with my eyes than some can with words. All I know for sure is that other people get it and that makes Mom extremely happy.
And I'm thankful for every happy moment Mom has.

Anipal Photo Hunt #7: Hey! That's Not Me!
Check out my Toki Poki card compared to my brofur from another mofur, @BorisKitty! You can get more views of our cards here and here.
Boris has more white on his face than I do, but we certainly look like we're related!
